Partial infilling – Partial infilling

Select from the tabs below

Partial infilling of a wetland decreases the extent and/or depth of water in the wetland. In some cases, partial infilling of a lacustrine wetland may decrease wetland extent and/or depth to such a degree that the wetland is converted to a palustrine wetland system. Complete infilling results in the loss of a wetland.

Applicable Wetland Habitat Hydrological Modification:

  • 'Modified – partial infilling – freshwater wetland with no system change' (H2-M12-c)
  • 'Modified – partial infilling – freshwater wetland with system change' (H2-M12-d)
  • 'Modified – partial infilling – intertidal wetland with no system change' (H2-M12-a)
