Objectives of the program

The program aims to:

• Collect information to assist the management and assessment of Queensland’s surfacewater resources
• Collect ambient water quality data (over a range of flow conditions) at a selection of stream gauging stations to enable the assessment and reporting condition of condition and trend of Queensland’s freshwater aquatic ecosystem health.

The Surfacewater Ambient Network and consists of 242 stream gauging station sites in Queensland.
