Sources of hot/cold water to wetlands:

  • Hot or cold water can be released into wetlands from point sources, urban areas via stormwater outflows or from upstream impoundments.

This pressure is to do with the direct input of water to a wetland that is of an unnatural temperature (e.g. the in-flowing water is hotter or colder than the wetland’s water temperature).
