Sources of habitat removal/disturbance from wetlands:

• Habitat removal for a variety of reasons, such as buildings, foreshore development, roads, bridges, aquaculture, reclamation for agriculture and hydrological modification (e.g. bund walls) increases habitat fragmentation and thus reduces habitat connectivity.
• Extractive operations, reclamation and modification of natural drainage pathways remove habitat.
• Uncontrolled vehicle access and recreational activities can result in the loss of wetland habitat.
