Training, funding and employment

The wealth of information on wetlands continues to grow. Networking with other groups, research and looking at past results, and getting out on the ground all adds to the information pool.

Organisation - National	Conservation Volunteers Australia (CVA)
Research Institutes Cooperative research centre (CRC)	The Cooperative Research Centre for Contamination Assessment and Remediation of the Environment (CRC CARE)	Creates and demonstrates advanced new technologies for dealing with land, groundwater and air contamination.
Research Institutes Cooperative research centre (CRC)	Cooperative Research Centre for Irrigation Futures	Officially terminated in 2010
Research Institutes Cooperative research centre (CRC)	Landscape Environment and Mineral Exploration Cooperative Research Centre’s (LEME CRC)	Role was to apply regolith science to the challenges facing Australia in natural resource management and mineral exploration. Although it closed in 2008, publications are still available on their website.
Research Institutes Cooperative research centre (CRC)	The Cooperative Research Centres Association Inc. (CRCA)	A not-for-profit organisation which promotes the pursuit of science, particularly through the Australian Government’s CRC Program.
Research Institutes Cooperative research centre (CRC)	Reef and Rainforest Research Centre	One ongoing research program concerns the Crown-of-thorns starfish (COTSWATCH).
