EventsWorld Wetlands DayWorld Wetlands Day is celebrated on 2 February each year. It marks the anniversary of the signing of the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance on 2 February 1971, in the Iranian city of Ramsar on the shores of the Caspian Sea. Since 1997, wetland management and conservation groups use the opportunity to undertake events and actions aimed at raising public awareness about the convention, as well as wetland values and benefits.
