Mechanical excavation by floating excavator to remove silt and nuisance vegetation and stabilise bed and banks to improve water quality and protect community assets.
In total, 88 projects were completed by 30 June 2019. These included:
Approximately 290,000 tonnes of sediment have been prevented from polluting the coastline every year; including the Great Barrier Reef and Moreton Bay environments.
