Installed a bioreactor bed on a sugarcane farm as part of the Bioreactors for GBR project. The bioreactor bed will be monitored to determine the efficacy of the bioreactor in terms of dissolved inorganic nitrogen (DIN) reduction (some targeted pesticide sampling will also occur).
Treatment of irrigation tail water or groundwater in sugarcane production systems in the lower Burdekin, to reduce the amount of nitrogen entering downstream waterways.
