Additional human language abstract/description
The intertidal and subtidal benthic habitat (ecosystem) mapping of Central Queensland provides seascape scale ecosystem mapping for Central Queensland State waters between Double Island Point (approx. 25 degrees south)and the mouth of the Fitzroy River (approx. 23.5 degrees south), to the 3 nautical mile limit offshore, and to the upper known limit of tidal influence.
Each ecosystem type has information about eight biophysical attributes: benthic depth, inundation, energy magnitude, consolidation, substrate composition, sediment texture, terrain morphology and structural macrobiota. Ecosystem types and their attributes hyperlink to descriptions on the WetlandInfo website.
The attribute classification and typology approach based on biophysical attributes using the Queensland Intertidal and Subtidal Ecosystem Classification Scheme.
This is the subtidal portion of the dataset, based upon the intertidal extent of the Inundation attribute.
The intertidal and subtidal benthic habitat (ecosystem) mapping of Central Queensland is a seascape scale map of ecosystem types. It is based on mapped biophysical attributes from available data between 2000 and 2015. This is a generalised version specifically for online delivery, and is derived from another more detailed mapping dataset.
Restricted to within the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection. View access permitted. Dataset is available for viewing to registered users via web delivery tools, for example, through an access controlled internet site like NAP RIS Portal.
