SummaryThis project aims to undertake weeding activities, litter collection and plant 6660 native trees at a 2.23ha site along Freshwater Creek, Redlynch, Cairns. Thirty-five event days will be held over two years with volunteers drawn from local high schools and community groups. The project will help to stabilise the creek banks (reducing sediment flowing into the Great Barrier Reef) and will reinstate an important vegetation corridor, assisting the threatened spectacled flying fox and an urban population of platypus.
