Summary

This project aims to coordinate eight five-day beach clean-ups over two years at four marine debris hotspots along the Cape York coast. Target locations include Chilli Beach (Kutini Payamu National Park), Mapoon Beach, Captain Billy’s Landing (Heathlands National Park) and Cape Bedford. Data will be collected on marine debris from all events, inputted into the Australian Marine Debris Initiative Database and used to create Source Reduction Plans which prevent marine debris from entering the environment in the first place.
