Wetland Information CaptureWetland Information Capture (WIC) is an online information capture system that allows approved users to contribute data to a wetland inventory database. It also provides some basic validation checks for data uploaded from field survey proformas. For any wetland inventory to be effective it is essential that the data within the inventory remains current. As new data is being added it also needs to be integrated with the existing data. Quick facts
The Department of Science, Information Technology, Innovation and the Arts has the ability to store and provide access to the data contributed to the wetland inventory database by external parties. Any individual or organisation that contributes data to the wetland inventory database remains the custodian or owner of their data.
A number of interactive data capture tools is available to collect and submit inventory data to the Wetland Information Capture (WIC) system. If you are interested in contributing data or require more information, please contact us.
